The fact that it costs less now does not necessarily make it attractive to private or public suitors. “It has the profile of a company with major long-term problems and it is only surviving because it has enough cash to be resilient,” Gellert said. “This is a company that is much better off as a private entity without the public reporting requirement, and without the microscope of the public market while they get their act together.”
